An ongoing project organised and curated by Shino Matsuura. Upon going to Japan, she asked many artists and friends to make a work in a casette case. The casette cases were exhibited in ‘Omae Dare/Dear All’. Now the project will continue the other way around, from Japan to Belgium/Europe.
Because the foundations of this project are personal relations, Shino added texts and images to the existing cassettes talking about her relations peculiar to the countries, times and people she encountered that made her who she is as a person and helped to contextualise her artistic practice .

A little, broken mechanism from a music box. On top of the turning mechanism a used cotton swab, turning around in the cassette box as the music plays.
“I send this object, foreign to Japan, with a little part of myself. It trivially turns around its axis just like the world. On the spinning world are all the people, on this spinning object there is only me. I am accompanied by a nearly-romantic-but-not-quite-there melody coming from the broken mechanism attached to the cassette. This is also me sending a piece of myself to Shino, the organiser of this project and my ex girlfriend, in what I thought to be a funny way of encountering each other after a time of being apart. Nonetheless it is underlined by the sentimentality peculiar to these sort of encounters.”
